About Sandra Beynon
Sandra Beynon is a Brisbane-based mother of one son, PJ, who has grown into a healthy specimen since the book was first published in 2001. Sandra is a singer, a writer, and entrepreneur who lives life to the full, every day in every way—preferably with a plate of good food close by!
“This book was written because of my love of cooking which transcended to cooking for my new baby son. In this age of fast everything, it’s nice to take some time to do something valuable for your baby – teaching him or her to appreciate and enjoy pure flavors and textures.
Whilst I did use commercial baby foods as a supplement to my own cooking and commend them highly for their quality, simplicity and ready availability when “on the run”, the art of cooking for babies and training their palates for later life is something which some mothers approach with fear and trepidation, believing mistakenly that it’s time-consuming, messy and largely pointless given the ready availability of commercial baby foods.
However, when I saw the delight and gusto with which my own baby devoured my home-cooking, it gave me confidence in preparing this book so that other mothers with the desire to cook but lacking the know-how or courage to try, could experience the joy and satisfaction of preparing food for their own baby to enjoy.
Now 15 years on, my son is on his way to manhood, armed with a love of good, healthy food and the positive effects it has on the rest of your life.
Hopefully, you will help prepare your child on the road to a lifetime of gastronomic pleasure and robust health.
“Bon appetit to all your beautiful babies!”
